Storytelling is a complex art. Between engaging narrative and knowing how much to share and how much to hold back - to keep readers coming back for more, it can all get to be a little too much for some.
What makes it more complex is when the story teller is actually a liar.
One thinks that narrators are omniscient, or at the very least can be trusted. That wasn’t the case with Six Feet Under, or with Fight Club for that matter. It’s an interesting place to be a a reader…it makes you wonder who you can actually trust.
